Migrating from other tools
Moving to a new task app should not mean retyping everything you already have. Rymi has a built-in importer that brings your existing tasks and projects across from other tools.
Open Settings → Data → Import Data…, pick where you are coming from, and choose your export file. Rymi shows you a preview before it writes anything, and the result screen has a one-tap Undo Import.

What to expect
Section titled “What to expect”Rymi is deliberately simpler than most task apps. It has no subtasks, tags, priorities, or time-of-day. So an import is not a field-for-field copy; it is a thoughtful move onto Rymi’s model. The importer keeps what fits, folds what it can into your task notes, drops what does not belong, and tells you exactly what it did before you commit.
Two things are always true:
- Your work does not land in Today. Today is where your commitments live, and a bulk import is not one. Active tasks land in your Inbox or Backlog (you choose); completed tasks land in Archive. Planning your day stays a deliberate act.
- Nothing is written until you say so. The preview shows the counts and a plain-English list of what changes. If it looks wrong, cancel. If you change your mind after importing, undo it.

What does not
Section titled “What does not”Priorities, start dates, time-of-day, and nested folders or sections are not imported. Rymi does not have those concepts, so keeping them would only add clutter. Cancelled or deleted tasks from your old app are skipped. The preview counts all of this so there are no surprises.
