Backup & multi-device sync

With Rymi Together your tasks live safely in iCloud and stay the same on every device you use.

What you get

Backup. Rymi saves a snapshot of your tasks to iCloud once a day and keeps the last 30 days, so a lost or replaced device does not mean lost work — and you can roll your tasks back to an earlier day.
Sync. Make a change on your Mac and it shows up on your iPhone, and the other way round, without you doing anything.

Turning it on

Sync lives in Settings -> Sync & Sharing. When you subscribe to Rymi Together and are signed in to iCloud, it turns on automatically. The toggle shows the real state: it is only on when you have Together, sync enabled, and iCloud available.

How it behaves

The first time it runs, Rymi downloads what is in iCloud, merges it with what is on your device, and uploads the combined result, so nothing is dropped. After that it syncs continuously in the background and when you bring the app to the front. The status line shows “Last synced” with a checkmark, a spinner while it is working, or a clear message if something needs attention.

Restoring from a backup

Want your tasks back the way they were last week? Open Settings -> Sync & Sharing -> “Restore from a backup…”, pick a day from the list, and Rymi shows you exactly what will change – for example “Restoring will re-add 6 tasks, remove 11 tasks added since, and un-complete 2 tasks” – before you confirm. It works on your Mac and your iPhone or iPad.

A few things worth knowing:

It’s a real rollback. Your tasks become how they were in that backup, so anything you did since – new tasks, completions, edits – is undone. The preview always tells you how much, up front.
It’s undoable. Rymi takes a fresh backup of your current tasks first, so if a restore wasn’t what you wanted, you can restore that one to put things back.
Shared projects aren’t touched. Restore rolls back your own tasks; shared projects keep moving with the people you share them with.

If you get signed out

Signing out, or a session that expires on its own, pauses Sync & Sharing rather than ending it. Settings says so plainly, shared projects are hidden until you sign back in, and nothing on the device is deleted. See account and sign-in.

If it lapses

If your subscription ends, sync simply stops and everything stays on the device, untouched. Resubscribe and it picks back up. See account and sign-in for what happens if the signed-in account does not match the device.
