Import from a Rymi backup

Rymi can import its own export file. This is useful for moving to a new device, or for bringing back a backup you made with Export Data.

Get a Rymi export

On the device that has your data, open Settings → Data → Export Data… and save the rymi-export-YYYY-MM-DD.json file. (If you already have a backup file, skip this step.)

Import it

1. On the target device, open Settings → Data → Import Data….
2. Choose Rymi backup.
3. Pick your .json file.
4. Review the preview, choose whether active tasks go to your Inbox or Backlog, and click Import.

What carries over

Almost everything: tasks, descriptions, deadlines, projects, and completed tasks (into Archive). Recurring schedules come across as well.

The import is additive. If you import the same file twice, Rymi warns you before adding duplicates, and the result screen always offers a one-tap Undo Import.

Note

If you use Rymi Together, your tasks already sync across your devices automatically. This import is for one-off moves and backup restores, not day-to-day syncing.
