Completing & archiving
There are two ways a task leaves your active list: you finish it, or you let it go. Rymi keeps both, and lets you undo either.
Complete a task
Section titled “Complete a task”On the Mac, select a task in Today and press
⌘⏎, or click its checkbox. It moves to the Archive with a green check.
Completion is a Today action: it is where finished commitments belong.
On iPhone and iPad, open the task and tap Complete in its detail view.
If the task is recurring, completing it also creates the next occurrence in your Backlog.
Archive without completing
Section titled “Archive without completing”Sometimes a task is simply no longer needed. Select it and press A, or use the
row controls, to archive it without marking it done. It moves to the Archive
marked as archived rather than completed, so your record stays honest about what
you actually finished. On iOS, swipe the row.
Undo: uncomplete and unarchive
Section titled “Undo: uncomplete and unarchive”Changed your mind? From the Archive:
- Uncomplete a completed task (
⌘⏎or its check) to send it back to Today. - Unarchive a task (
A) to send it back to Backlog.
You can also press ⌘Z straight after the action to reverse it. See
history, undo & delete.
The Archive
Section titled “The Archive”The Archive keeps completed tasks, archived tasks, and archived projects in separate groups, so it reads as a record of what happened rather than a pile. Tasks there open read-only; to change one, unarchive it first.
