Sorting tasks

Within a section, the order of tasks is yours. Put the thing you will do first at the top.

  • Drag a task up or down with the mouse or trackpad.
  • Keyboard: select a task and press ⌘↑ or ⌘↓ to move it.

Order is remembered per context, independently:

  • global Today and global Backlog
  • each project’s Today and Backlog

So a task can sit near the top of your global Today and wherever you like inside its project, without the two fighting each other.

The Inbox is not reorderable. It stays in the order you captured things, because the Inbox is for processing, not planning. When something matters enough to rank, you move it to Today or Backlog, where order means something.
